COVID-19 Vaccination for Pharmacy Teams

COVID-19 Vaccination for Pharmacy Teams

January 12, 2021

On 7 January 2021, a letter was released (Operational guidance: Vaccination of frontline health & social care workers) detailing guidance to systems on how frontline health and social care workers should be vaccinated by systems. This is expected to be delivered within hospital hubs primarily (individual areas may vary this to utilise Community Pharmacy or GP-run local centres too) but with access offered via CCGs.

Our local CCGs are all working hard to provide this access and we will communicate with you as soon as the details are available.

Warrington Contractors Only:

Warrington CCG is writing/has written to all pharmacies via the NHSMail shared mailbox requesting details of the staff so they can invite them for vaccination. The text of the email is included below. Please can all contractors respond to this and let us know via support@cpcw.org.uk if they haven’t received the original email.

BCC to all Warrington and Halton Pharmacies

Dear Colleague.

People who are frontline health and social care workers are eligible to attend Warrington Hospital to be vaccinated, and we have recently been informed that Warrington Hospital has slots available over the next few days and weeks for our providers of NHS Funded Healthcare to get their staff vaccinated.

People will need to attend Warrington Hospital for the vaccine and be available for a second vaccination in a few weeks’ time.

If you would like to take up this opportunity, as a matter of urgency can you provide me with a list of all staff, individual email addresses, contact numbers so that Warrington Hospital can invite for vaccinations. This information needs to be forwarded urgently as slots may be possible towards the end of this week as a start. Please note that consent will be required from staff to share contact details.
