GP CPCS Training Webinar

March 2, 2021

Wednesday 24 March 2021 | 7pm

This webinar is designed for pharmacists and pharmacy teams.

From 1 November 2020, the CPCS was extended across England to include referrals from general practices as well as from NHS 111.

GPs can now refer patients to community pharmacies to receive a CPCS consultation for minor illness.

As the rollout progresses and more referrals are sent to community pharmacies this training will help prepare your teams and ensure you are ready to delivery at  a local level and help you meet the claiming criteria

Please follow this link to register your place:

Following registration you will be sent confirmation and an option to add the event to your calendar.

Aims of the Training

  • To help prepare your pharmacy teams.
  • Understand the local processes
  • Understand the GP referral pathway engagement activity
  • Help contractors to be able to claim the engagement and setup payment, and understand the activities that will need to be completed by 30 June 2021 (Deadline Extended) and documented so it can be evidenced at a later date (this meeting will meet the requirement to participate in a meeting to brief pharmacies on the referral process)
  • To Help Implement  an Action Plan https://psnc.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/GP-CPCS-Action-Plan-template.pdf
  • Promoting the service and working with GPs
  • Hints and Tips

Actions to Plan

The other requirements still need completing within your pharmacy team and you should plan time in to do this before 30 June 2021. These other requirements include:

  • Local Discussions
  • Briefing your pharmacy team on local plans
  • Action plan
  • Pharmacy team being familiar with the updated SLA/Service Specification and Toolkit

We do recommend that you read the service specification here (in particular Annex F) prior to attending the event so you are familiar

We are supported in the setup and preparation of the event by Trudell medical who will be providing an update prior to the meeting start on their support to pharmacies around helping patients get to grips with good inhaler/spacer techniques and some upcoming further support they are providing to the pharmacies across our geography.
