Cheshire East – Quick Start Contraception Training

Cheshire East Council is extending the sexual health services they wish community pharmacy to provide by adding the provision of quick start contraception using patient group directions (PGD). Agreement to provide these new services was part of the contract awarded to you to provide emergency contraception.

The PGD for this extended service has been developed and Cheshire East contractors are invited to a training evening. The service will be supported by PharmOutcomes in the same way emergency contraception is.

  • Dr Sue Walsh will explain these service, go through the PGDs and take any questions you have
  • Jo Sutton, Sexual Health Service Commissioner will explain the Council’s aspirations for this service, along with representatives from Body Positive and East Cheshire Trust
  • Shelley Brough, Head of Service Integrated Commissioning, will update you on the commissioning of services for substance misusers
  • Body Positive representatives will be present to explain the C-card scheme and how to access condom supplies.
