Suzanne Austin

S Austin – 2018 Suzanne qualified as a pharmacist in 1990 after graduating from Bath University and completing her pre-registration training with P Williams Chemists. Suzanne was with P Williams for seventeen years in many roles from relief manager, branch manager, practice pharmacist in three GP funding holding practices and NHS services manager. During this time she completed an MSc in Community Pharmacy from Keele University. In 2006 she joined the Co-operative Pharmacy working in the Business Development Team and the Superintendent’s Office.  She was appointed as Chair Local Professional Network NHS England (Cheshire, Warrington and Wirral) in September 2013. She joined the LPC as a committee member in 1991 followed by an employee role from 2002 which continues.

Melanie Carrol

M Carrol – 2017 Melanie qualified from Liverpool Polytechnic School of Pharmacy in 1985 completing her Pre-registration year at Boots in Chorley. She went straight on to be store pharmacist in Preston followed by a number of years as a relief manager in Lancashire. After getting married in 1988 Melanie relocated to North Wales where she continued working for Boots as a relief manager. In 1992 she was appointed as store manager to Boots, Bromborough.  Melanie continued to work for Boots in the Merseyside and Cheshire area holding many roles from store manager, pharmacy manager, area resource manager to name a few. During this time Melanie sat on Wirral LPC as an employee representative. In March 2005 she became the Chief Officer for Wirral LPC until the merger with Cheshire LPC. Following the merger Melanie continues to work for the LPC as Contractor Support & Development Pharmacist.

Alison Williams

A Williams – 2018

Alison’s first role was as a junior secretary for ICI Chemicals & Polymers in 1988.  During her 13 years at ICI she was located at a number of sites and progressed through the company to become an IT Project Manager; she spent from 1993 to 1997 travelling to Liverpool 2 nights a week to gain a Business Studies degree from John Moores University.

Alison joined the ‘world of pharmacy’ in 2004 when she took on the role of part-time Administrator for North Cheshire LPC, expanding her role by joining South Cheshire LPC a couple of years later followed by Wirral LPC. Alison continues in the role of Business Support Officer for CPCW and is the minutes secretary for the Mersey Association of LPCs (MALPs).
